Taffy puffs dramatically, often three or four times its size, and turns into a crunchy, melt-away candy that tastes like the original flavor turned up. It is one of the most impressive candies to show people.
Because it expands so much, overcrowding is the usual mistake. Pieces fuse into one sheet if they touch.
Prep and loading
- Unwrap and cut each piece into halves or thirds.
- Space them at least an inch apart.
- Run on warm shelves or candy mode.
- Bag the moment the cycle ends.
How to tell it’s dry
- Pieces are fully puffed and crunchy all the way through.
A steady weight only shows the drying has stopped; breaking the thickest piece is the check that counts. Neither is a safety test. Safety comes from tested prep, safe cooking temperatures where needed, complete drying and airtight packing. See what a kitchen scale can and cannot tell you.
Not sure? The weight check compares two weighings and the expected dry weight for salt water taffy.
Problems and fixes
Pieces fused together
Too close together. Use more space, fewer pieces.
Chewy centers
Pieces too big. Cut them smaller.
Rehydrating and storing
Rehydrate: Not rehydrated.
Store: Sealed pouches; months, not years.
Ways to use it
- Market sales
- Gift bags
- Party treats

| Harvest Right Small | 2.1 lb | 2.02 lb |

| Harvest Right X-Large | 10.9 lb | 10.49 lb |
